Where did the summer go: part 2 - July 2011 Corpus Christi Vacation

Mid July we took a trip to Corpus Christi with both sets of grandparents. This seems to be the way the travel right now while both kids are so small. It is really nice to have 8 extra hands to help us with the kids. My parents and my in laws get along really well and my kids adore them all as well. It makes for nice travel.
We didn't have a hard set agenda, I just had two things I wanted to do which we accomplished: 1) letting the kids go to the beach and play in the sand  & 2) going to the aquarium to see the fish.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from vacation:

Kallen loved the water

They both loved "jumping" the waves

Sand crabs

She requested to touch the alligator

They were too afraid to travel out on the pier

Where did the summer go?? - part 1

My husband says that summer doesn't exist anymore since he no longer gets one. Well, it does exist in my world and it went by in a flash this year. I was dreading working 10 hour days because that meant the kids would be in at school for 10 hours, but it was all worth it because we had 3 day weekends for 10 weeks straight. It was really nice, and they didn't mind being at school that long because they both seem to like the school (I am so grateful).  Here are a few highlights from July and August.

Kyleigh turns 3

On July 14th Kyleigh turned three years old. It is so hard to believe, let alone say that I have a  3 year old. It still seems weird every time I'm asked how old Kyleigh is, and my answer is "3".

She is such a sweet girl with lots of energy and a great personality. She loves her family and taking care of her brother. Tier and I love watching them play together. She can give you a smile that will melt your heart and light up the room.

Birthday pictures:

We had dress up clothes over load

by party time she was an expert on the slide

Austin enjoyed the slide too

Yeah for Aunt Debbie, for getting everyone to sit still for a quick picture

Kyleigh,

Your daddy and I love you so much big girl. We have enjoyed the past three years and look forward to watching you grow in the future!!! We thank God daily for the gift of you being our first born. You definitely have given us an introduction into parenthood. We wouldn't trade a minute of if for anything in the world.
